DE Wie gewohnt ist auch in dieser Spielzeit das Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch zu Gast. Diesmal präsentiert die legendäre Kompanie wieder einen Klassiker Pina Bauschs: Palermo Palermo von 1989. Es ist eine der düstersten Arbeiten Bauschs und ein Tanztheater, das oft näher am Theater als am Tanz ist. Das Stück entstand auf Einladung der sizilianischen Hauptstadt und sollte sich mit dieser befassen. Selbstverständlich überspitzte die Choreografin ihre Beobachtungen und entwarf reichlich absurde Szenen in italienischem Ambiente. Unvergesslich ist der Anfang, an dem eine Mauer einstürzt – noch bevor im gleichen Jahr jene in Berlin fiel. Was folgt, sind lose aneinandergereihte Vignetten, unterlegt von einem eklektischen Musikmix, die sich um Sehnsucht nach Liebe und Enttäuschung drehen.

Palermo Palermo est un spectacle d’une force visuelle peu commune, qui affirme, avec sa succession de saynètes, un tournant dans l’œuvre de Pina Bausch.
