FR Après S 62° 58’, W 60° 39’ (23 • 24) et l’opéra Dido & Aeneas (21 • 22), cette saison marque le retour de la compagnie flamande Peeping Tom au Grand Théâtre, avec sa nouvelle création Chroniques, selon un concept et dans une mise en scène de sa directrice artistique Gabriela Carrizo. Prenant racine dans l’univers poétique et décalé de Peeping Tom, Chroniques raconte la destinée de cinq personnages piégés dans un labyrinthe temporel, mutant et s’entrechoquant dans une tentative de défier l’immortalité. Dotés d’une grande ductilité physique, les cinq interprètes nous emmènent dans des lieux de liminalité et de transformations continues. Un spectacle qui explore la métamorphose corporelle et réunit matériaux théâtraux et sonorités pour former des sculptures en mouvement dans des tableaux vivants.

EN After acclaimed performances at the Théâtres de la Ville in 2022 and 2023 (Dido & Aeneas and S 62° 58′, W 60° 39′), Belgian dance-theatre company Peeping Tom returns with Chroniques, a new creation by Gabriela Carrizo. Five characters find themselves trapped in an ever-shifting temporal labyrinth, morphing and colliding in their attempt to challenge immortality. Their existence unfolds in a vast, enigmatic landscape of chronicles, where their bodies reveal different possibilities of being. A new ensemble of exceptionally versatile performers brings remarkable physical plasticity to Carrizo’s vision. The production also features a collaboration with artist duo Lolo & Sosaku, whose mechanised sculptures interact dynamically with the cast, reinforcing Peeping Tom’s unique blend of movement, theatre, and dreamlike atmospheres.

DE Fünf Figuren sind im neuen Stück des Brüsseler Tanztheater-Kollektivs – zuletzt in der Spielzeit 23 • 24 mit S 62° 58′, W 60° 39′ am Grand Théâtre – in einem Zeitlabyrinth gefangen. Beim Versuch, die Unsterblichkeit zu überwinden, reiben sich die fünf aneinander und verwandeln sich. Ihre Existenz entfaltet sich in einer Serie von Chroniken und spielt sich in einer weiten, turbulenten Landschaft ab. Ist diese ein Nährboden für Neues oder ein Überrest von Vergangenem? In ihrem unaufhörlichen Bestreben, gemeinsam etwas zu erschaffen, stoßen die Figuren auf verschiedene Naturgesetze und -phänomene. Ihre Körper verhalten sich plötzlich anders, haben andere Möglichkeiten, ohne dass klar ist, ob sie sich am Anfang oder am Ende ihres Lebens befinden. Das Publikum ist Zeuge tiefgründiger poetischer Metamorphosen.
